Learn how to create a podcast using YouTube Studio and add your podcast to YouTube Music!
On YouTube, a podcast show is a playlist, and podcast episodes are videos in that playlist. Your podcast should only contain full-length episodes, organized in the order that they should be consumed. If your podcast has multiple seasons, include them in the same podcast.
Podcast creators are eligible for the following perks:
Podcast-specific discovery and recommendation features, making it easier for your audience to find your podcast.
Official search cards.
The option to be featured on youtube.com/podcasts.
Badges on your podcasts and videos.
Your podcast will be available to YouTube Music users.

It's just as important to be the perfect guest as it is to be a great podcast host
Being a guest on podcasts is a fantastic way to spread your message further, get free publicity for your brand, or establish your credibility within your field.
But as a marketing strategy, it only really works if you’re able to make a genuine impact on the listening audience. Most regular podcast listeners consume a lot of content - more than 7 hours a week on average! And that makes it hard to stand out. As a guest, you need to grab their attention and make them take notice. By the end of the interview, listeners should be thinking “wow”, not “meh”.
You don’t need to be a comedian or professional entertainer to get listeners to remember your name. It just needs to be extremely clear you’re passionate about what you do, and you know exactly what you’re talking about. There is an incredible amount of overlap between independent podcasters and independent authors. After all, we’re both out here trying to get our content into the eyes and ears of our ideal audience.
As someone with a foot in both worlds, I’ve spent a lot of time considering how the promotional tactics that have long been used by indie authors can be adapted to fit the podcast audience. Somewhere in endless articles and books I’ve read on book marketing, there has to be something that I could use for everything, right? Something that would allow me to whip up a single marketing plan, then sail away with my millions. I’m still looking, but what I have learned in the meantime is how important it is to have an email newsletter.
If you don’t have a newsletter yet, you need one. A newsletter allows you to collect your listeners’ contact information and reach out to them directly. One of the best ways to get people to sign up for your newsletter is by using a lead magnet. Read More
