Headliner and Apple Podcasts Launch Free Video Templates for Podcasters
A new partnership between Headliner and Apple Podcasts is making it easier than ever for creators to turn podcast episodes into shareable video content.

As video continues to play a larger role in podcast discovery, Headliner has partnered with Apple Podcasts to launch a collection of free podcast video and audiogram templates designed to help creators promote their shows more easily.
The new templates allow podcasters to quickly create branded video clips and audiograms using Apple Podcasts-inspired designs. Creators can upload full episodes, manually select clips, or use Headliner's AI-powered clipping tools to automatically identify shareable moments for social media.
The announcement comes as podcasting continues its shift toward video-first discovery, with platforms like YouTube and Apple investing more heavily in video podcast experiences. Headliner says the goal is to help creators create consistent, professional-looking promotional content without needing design expertise or additional software.
What this means for Podcasters
Creating promotional video content is becoming easier and more accessible
Professional-looking audiograms and clips can help increase visibility on social media
Video continues to play an increasingly important role in podcast discovery
Tools that automate clipping, captioning, and branding can save creators valuable time
For independent creators, the challenge often isn't creating great content, it's getting people to discover it. Tools like these reflect a growing industry trend toward simplifying video promotion so podcasters can spend less time editing and more time creating.

The Future of Media May Belong to Creators: New Study Shows a Major Shift in How People Consume Information
The latest Reuters Institute Digital News Report reveals a major shift in how people consume information and it has implications far beyond traditional news organizations.
According to the report, social media and video platforms are now the most widely used sources of news globally, surpassing both television and news websites. At the same time, audiences are increasingly turning to creators, influencers, podcasters, and personality-driven content to help them understand what's happening in the world.
The reality? The trends reshaping journalism are the same trends reshaping podcasting.
What's Behind It?
Audiences are increasingly consuming information through social and video platforms rather than traditional media outlets.
Creator-led content continues to gain influence because it often feels more personal, authentic, and accessible.
Younger audiences are more likely to watch or listen to content than read traditional news articles.
AI tools and chatbots are becoming new gateways to information, changing how audiences discover content.
Trust in institutions continues to face challenges, while audiences increasingly build relationships with individual voices.
Underlying Questions
For years, the conventional wisdom was that institutions held the power:
News organizations
Radio stations
Television networks
Major publishers
But today's audiences are increasingly choosing people over platforms.
Podcasters have been building trust-based, personality-driven media long before many traditional organizations recognized the shift. So, the question becomes:
Are podcasters simply participating in the creator economy or are they helping define the future of media itself?
And as audiences place more trust in individual creators, what responsibility comes with that influence?
What are your thoughts?
Is this...
A positive shift that gives independent creators more opportunities to build meaningful audiences?
ORA concerning trend that places too much influence in the hands of individual personalities?
Final Thoughts
The Reuters Institute report suggests we may be entering a "creator-first media era"... where trust, connection, and personality matter as much as institutional reach. For podcasters, that presents both an opportunity and a challenge. Because in a world where audiences increasingly follow people instead of platforms, the most valuable asset may no longer be your content, it's the relationship you've built with your listeners.
