Podfest® Multimedia Expo and Cutting Edge Events, LLC, Announce New Strategic Investment and Partnership to Expand the World’s Longest-Running Annual, In-Person Podcasting Conference
TAMPA, FL / ACCESSWIRE / July 16, 2024 Chris Krimitsos, speaker, author, entrepreneur and founder of Cutting Edge Events, LLC, which hosts several events including the global podcasting and multimedia conference known as Podfest®, is pleased to announce the receipt of a substantial strategic investment by and partnership with two strategic partners.
Coming from humble beginnings more than ten years ago, Podfest has grown to become a household name in the podcasting and multimedia community. Through this partnership, Podfest will gain access to decades of experience in book publishing, content creation, writing, and entrepreneurship from two entrepreneurs with long records of helping creators and entrepreneurs succeed.
Specifically, as part of this strategic investment, Chris Krimitsos will remain a key member of the Podfest leadership team, focusing on marketing and community building, with executive leadership, sponsorships, and event growth being led by investors and key partners, Nick Pavlidis and Dr. Glenn Vo.
Nick Pavlidis will join Cutting Edge Events and Podfest as managing member and chief executive officer, bringing decades of experience in business and community building. In addition to his work with Cutting Edge Events, Nick is a book publishing executive, a key investor in and member of the Morgan James Publishing leadership team, an independent traditional book publisher that has helped thousands of authors publish books since 2003. Nick has also founded three success businesses, including Authority Ghostwriting, Ghostwriter School, and Beantown Books. Through his businesses, Nick has helped thousands of thought leaders, entrepreneurs, and creatives grow audiences, income, and impact by leveraging their expertise, interests, and experience.
“I’m honored and excited to welcome Nick into Podfest leadership,” said Chris Krimitsos. “First and foremost, he’s a podcaster himself, having hosted several successful podcasts. Nick is also no stranger to the Podfest community, having served as a sponsor, speaker, and attendee for several years. As an example of Nick’s impact on Podfest and beyond, Nick was honored as one of two inaugural Lee Silverstein Messenger Awards in recognition of his dedication to utilizing the medium of podcasting to convey a message of hope and be an inspiration to his audience and his community,” Chris added.
“Importantly, Nick also brings a track record of success and multiple large audiences of authors, ghostwriters, and other creators and thought leaders to help expand the Podfest community and bring additional expertise to add even more value to attendees,” Chris noted.
“Having been a speaker, sponsor, and attendee of Podfest for many years, I have had a unique opportunity to experience Podfest from multiple perspectives,” said Nick. “I’m humbled to receive the opportunity to invest in and help lead Podfest into the future. The foundation that has been built by Chris, the Podfest team members, and the community members themselves is nothing short of spectacular. I am excited to continue to help Podfest grow and add even more value to attendees and the community.”
In addition, as part of this strategic investor, content creator, and dentist Dr. Glenn Vo will join as a partner in charge of sponsorships and strategic relationships.
Dr. Vo is the Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author of three books and invests in several companies, including a community of dental industry professionals called Nifty Thrifty Dentists, which boasts more than 57,000 members in its Facebook group alone. He is also the host of the Nifty Thrifty Dentists podcast, which has been downloaded more than 1 million times.
“I’m tremendously grateful that Glenn decided to join Podfest as a significant partner in charge of sponsorships and strategic relationships,” Chris Krimitsos said. “There is nobody more experienced with or talented at identifying mutually beneficial partnerships than Glenn. I know he will be able to help new and existing sponsors and community members create valuable connections for years to come. Glenn will be a key member of our team moving forward, along with Nick and me. Together, I know Podfest and our other brands are poised to help a lot of people all around the world.”
“After attending Podfest, getting to know many people in the community, and hosting my own event within podfest, which I called Dental Podfest, I knew Chris had built something special,” said Dr. Vo. “It is truly an honor to help expand what he built through strategic partnerships while opening up opportunities and creating value for every member of the Podfest community.”

Although technology has made it easier than ever for the average person to start a podcast, it’s still common for podcasters to run into challenges along the way.
Producing and launching a podcast is a massive undertaking, so it’s important that podcasters learn to use all the tools and resources they have at their disposal to make the journey easier.
Some of the most common pain points for podcasters include struggling to sustain podcast growth, a lack of motivation, frequent burnout, and feeling crunched for time. If you feel like you don’t have time to properly invest in podcast growth tactics, then you’re not alone—according to podcast expert and the CEO of Voics Darren Lee, 90% of podcasters don’t make it past the third episode.
The inability to continue past those first few episodes can be attributed to a number of different factors, including a lack of content strategy, systems, distribution, and grit, in Lee’s opinion. But if we may, we would also add that not having enough time to devote to your podcast is another massive hurdle that can get in the way of podcast success. Read More

511 podcasters were kind enough to fill out a survey for The Podcast Host with one of them also winning a $200 voucher in a prize drawing.
They also asked a few favours from friends in the industry so that the survey could be shared outside their own bubble. Big thanks to Bidemi of the Association of African Podcasters & Voice Artists, Elsie of She Podcasts/Libsyn, and Ananda, a prominent podcaster in the Portuguese language domain.
As with any survey, there will always be limitations and skews, but we’re always working to improve with each new survey we run. 511 people is a great sample size, but according to The Podcast Index, over 455,000 new podcast episodes were published in the past month, so that really puts things in perspective! We’re thankful, though, for the help of those above to expand the reach of our survey, and we strive to include more and more wide-ranging communities every time. Read More

Brand messaging and polished marketing can only take a brand so far in the eyes of everyday people. At the end of the day, we aren’t looking for more sugar-coated advertising., We’re looking for honesty.
Honesty builds an audience that understands you and sticks with you. How do you create that trust? One way is with a narrative-style podcast.
When you consider brand podcasts, your mind probably jumps right to the tried and true interview style. Interviews are a classic format. They’re fairly easy to approach, organize, and produce. But most brands massively underinvest in uniqueness and storytelling. Read More
